Yes, they shrink, but in the dryer, so airdry them! I buy size 5 mediums for my husband, who wears a 42 long jacket and a 16 34 shirt. That size (green crocodile embroidery) fits perfectly. The 6 would be okay, too, but it depends on how fitted you want them.
The higher price point–the silver lacoste embroidery –run a bit smaller, so I would recommend the large or 6.
They are 100% cotton.
From my experience, they run a little smallish, so go for a large. Don’t worry if you try it on and it feels big — anything that is made partially or wholly out of cotton (Lacoste shirts are cotton-poly blend, I believe) will shrink in the wash.
In my experience their sizes are accurate and mine have never shrunk – in saying that I have only ever had a few Lacoste polos
